The Annual Sports Day of Father LeBlond School was successfully held on 20th December 2025, marking a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and healthy competition. The event was honored by the presence of Chief Guest Brigadier P.C. Roy, accompanied by his wife, and Guest of Honour Ms. Swati Mandal, whose presence greatly inspired the students and staff.
The Sports Day witnessed intense yet spirited competition between the two school houses, as they competed head-to-head for the prestigious titles of Annual Sports Champion. A wide range of sporting events were conducted, including track races, team events, tug of war, and other competitive games that tested the strength, speed, coordination, and teamwork of the participants.
The atmosphere throughout the day was electrifying, with students cheering for their houses and displaying remarkable discipline, determination, and sportsmanship. The event emphasized the values of teamwork, perseverance, leadership, and physical fitness, making it a truly enriching experience. The Annual Sports Day concluded on a high note, leaving behind memories of excitement, unity, and competitive spirit among the school community.
Brigadier P.C. Roy (Retired) is a highly respected and resilient former officer of the Indian Army, widely admired for his exceptional bravery, inspiring leadership, and indomitable spirit. Commissioned into the prestigious 1/3 Gorkha Rifles in 1984, he served the nation with distinction and dedication throughout his military career.
One of the most defining moments of Brigadier Roy’s life was his extraordinary survival of a near-fatal terrorist encounter in Srinagar, Kashmir, where he was shot five times while courageously surprising terrorists during an operation. Despite sustaining severe injuries, his remarkable willpower and resilience enabled him to make a strong recovery and continue serving the Indian Army with the same commitment and zeal. His journey of recovery stands as a powerful example of courage, mental strength, and unwavering determination.
Beyond his battlefield achievements, Brigadier Roy is known for his discipline, empathy, and inspiring personality. A true sportsman, he actively engaged in boxing and football, and is also known for his musical skills as a bagpipe and drum player, earning him the affectionate nickname “Roy Bahadur.” Even after his injury, he embraced life with positivity, taking up adventurous activities such as windsurfing with one hand, further reflecting his fearless outlook toward life.
After retirement, Brigadier P.C. Roy continues to serve the nation by shaping young minds. He is actively involved as a motivational speaker and serves as an Interviewing Officer at SSB Bhopal, guiding and inspiring aspiring defence candidates. Through veteran platforms and motivational engagements, he shares his life experiences to instill values of perseverance, integrity, discipline, and courage.
Brigadier P.C. Roy truly embodies the spirit of the Indian Army, standing as a living symbol of dedication, resilience, and selfless service. His presence as the Chief Guest was a great honor and a source of immense inspiration for students, staff, and the entire school community.
